Seatools is hiring a new Sales Engineer. We are looking for a colleague who is eager to commercialize our (semi-)standardized products, with a couple of years of relevant work experience. The position requires a candidate with an eye for generating sales through active acquisition and closing deals. Ideally, our applicant has a strong affinity with high-end technology, and knows how to connect our solutions to the right clients.

Seatools is a subsea technology company providing solutions for a wide range of subsea challenges. We cater to virtually any subsea-related market, ranging from aquaculture to offshore oil and gas. Although the majority of the solutions we provide are custom made, Seatools has set ambitious goals to develop and commercialize (semi-)standardized products, too.

As a Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for the commercialization of these standardized products. More specifically, your prime responsibility is to achieve sales targets by means of active acquisition, drafting proposals, and closing deals. Beyond generating sales, you will have an important role in the development and optimization of the commercialization strategy and value proposition of individual products. In this way, you help unleash the maximum commercial potential of individual products.
Therefore, we are looking for a collaborative entrepreneur who possesses the ambition and motivation to become one of the driving forces behind the growth of Seatools.

Tasks and responsibilities

As Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for the sales targets in relation to Seatools’ (semi-) standardized components and systems. This entails, among others, the following responsibilities:
• Boosting revenues by selling (semi-)standardized products;
• Proactively approaching (potential) clients for Seatools’ (semi-)standardized products;
• Adequately following up on leads. This means, for instance, you will be working in close cooperation with Seatools engineers to deliver technically sound proposals that fit within the potential client’s budget, requirements, and schedule;
• Identifying opportunities for product and value proposition improvement


• A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (e.g. Mechanical, Electrical) or higher;
• A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience;
• Experience in the offshore or dredging industry;
• A problem-solving mentality, an opportunity spotter; closing deals gives you a boost;
• Customer and service oriented;
• Honed communication skills and a strong, convincing personality;
• Highly proficient in the English and Dutch language, both verbally and in writing;
• Occasionally travelling abroad to visit international clients is not a problem for you;
• Strong affinity with high-end technology;
